This year marks the sixth year of hub magazine’s Apex Awards program, which honors the innovation and thought leadership displayed by employers and brokers who are working to improve the health care system.

All submissions are judged on the nominated program’s overall approach to specific health care challenges, and the corresponding results in overcoming those challenges, and applicants are divided into four groups:

  1. Companies with 3,000 or more employees (non-public sector)
  2. Companies with fewer than 3,000 employees (non-public sector)
  3. Public sector (e.g., states and municipalities)
  4. Brokers/Consultants

All winners will be featured in hub. By profiling these best practices, we hope this program furthers a dialogue on effective solutions that will help drive change throughout the health care system.

Applications may be submitted in one of two ways:
  • By employers, brokers or consultants who are nominating themselves, with the approval of the company's senior-most benefits executive; or
  • By UnitedHealth Group account teams on behalf of their employer or broker partners, with the approval of the nominee’s senior-most benefits executive.

Note: Only one nomination is permitted for each company, and all nominees must be UnitedHealthcare customers..
